Durango-Hickory Smoked Salt is made by naturally smoking delicate Pacific sea salt flakes with untreated Hickory wood. This process creates a bold, full flavor without any added liquid smoke or artificial flavour.
The smoky taste of hickory is often associated with southern cuisine, making Durango a perfect pairing for ribs, burgers, and any type of red meat.
Smoked salts pair wonderfully with any tomato based dishes such as lasagna, spaghetti and roasted tomatoes. Sprinkle on before, during or after cooking to add a wonderfully smoky flavour to any dish on or off the grill. Combine with with herbs to make a rub or add to sauces. Sprinkle on almonds before roasting for delicious smoked almonds to add to a sophisticated charcuterie board.
